El éxito de La Familia Addams |The success of The Addams Family

Fue todo un éxito. Lo presentimos desde que llegamos al Auditorio y vimos todos los asientos llenos. Los estudiantes y sus padres concurrieron con mucha expectativa al estreno de La Familia Addams, primera comedia musical que se realiza en LHS, y no fueron defraudados.

Nosotras llegamos puntuales y aun así no pudimos alcanzar los mejores puestos. De todas maneras disfrutamos como todos los demás del gran trabajo actoral y musical de que hicieron gala nuestros compañeros.

No parecía que fueran aquellos a quienes estamos habituadas a ver en las aulas y en los pasillos de la escuela. Aparte del maquillaje, lo que los hacía prácticamente irreconocibles era la caracterización de los personajes. La familia de Gómez Addams terminó por contagiar con su “locura” a la “normal” familia de Mal Benieke, y triunfó el amor entre Wednesday y Lucas.

Al final aplaudimos con mucho gusto la excelente puesta en escena. Como dijeron muchos luego de la puesta en escena: este es el mejor trabajo teatral que hemos visto en LHS.

It was all a success. We sensed it from the time we got to the Auditorium and saw all the seats filled. The students and their parents concurred with much anticipation to the premiere of The Addams Family, first musical comedy to be performed at LHS, and they were not defrauded.

We arrived on time and still could not reach the best positions. Either way, we enjoyed, like all the others, the great acting and musical work that our comrades enjoyed.

It did not look like they were the ones we’re used to seeing in classrooms and school halls. Apart from the makeup, what made them practically unrecognizable was the characterization of the characters. The family of Gómez Addams ended up infecting with his “madness” to the “normal” family of Mal Benieke, and triumph of the love between Wednesday and Lucas.

In the end we applauded with pleasure the excellent staging. As many said after the staging: This is the best theatrical work we have seen at LHS.

Un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria se apiñaron alrededor del pequeño vestíbulo de arriba, donde se aplicaba el maquillaje a los actores de la mejor producción musical en la historia de LHS. Cuando los rostros se apagaron, los nervios se encendieron. Los antepasados tomaron sus lugares a las 6:30 del 18 de noviembre y la Familia Addams rezó junta entre bastidores antes de que comenzara el show. Las altas expectativas fueron satisfechas por actuaciones aún más altas de todos los involucrados, y la audiencia rugió de placer en cada carcajada y broma. Cuando sonó la última nota, el teatro entero saltó a sus pies y felicitó a los estudiantes por su bien hecho musical.

“Yo llegué a la escuela a las cuatro y media para asistir a los antepasados con el maquillaje. Luego, yo me puse el mío similar a los antepasados –aunque no era parte del conjunto de actores. Afiné mi contrabajo y mi ukulele, encendí mi amplificador, y esperé con inquietud la llegada de los espectadores, que hicieron una larga línea fuera del auditorio. En diez minutes la mayoría de las sillas fueron ocupadas. Entonces, exactamente a las siete de la tarde, Sr. William Andrews Weiss presentó la obra y su contexto. “Ä nosotros nos enviaron a nuestros lugares de partida y yo estaba lista para ir a escena. La banda tocó mi pie y caminé hasta el escenario con el resto de mi familia. Respiré ‘el embriagante olor del cementerio’. Me sentí como en casa en el escenario. Pienso que la obra fue un gran éxito ambas noches, y yo me senti muy bendecida por ser una parte de la ‘extremadamente normal’ Familia Addams.” – Por Mickie Klatt

“Interpreté el papel de Mal Benieke, el padre de Lucas, el novio de Wednesday.
Me transformé de una persona muy rígida y estricta a un aficionado apasionado de Grateful Dead. Disfruté mucho la escena final, cuando mi hijo y su novia se casaron. Mi esposa Alice y yo miramos la boda con alegría.” –Ben Hathhorn

La obra fue presentada sin grandes problemas. Lamentablemente, Jack Bohenestiehl, el director asistente, fue diagnosticado con cáncer en el medio de los ensayos. Todos  tuvimos experiencias asombrosas mientras practicábamos y representábamos para nuestras familias y amigos. Ahora esperamos con impaciencia la primavera, cuando haremos otra obra.

A group of high school students crowded about a small upstairs hallway applying makeup in preparation for the best musical production in Lutheran High School history. As the faces deadened, the nerves became alive. The ancestors took their places at 6:30 November 18 and the Addams Family prayed together backstage before the show began. The high expectations were met by even higher performances by everyone involved, and the audience roared in delight at each guffaw and joke. When the last note rang out, the entire theater leaped to its feet and congratulated the students on their musical well done.

On Friday November 18, I arrived at school at 4:30 to assist the ancestors with makeup. I then did my own makeup, making myself look half-dead, in order to look like an ancestor myself, although I was not part of the ensemble. I tuned my bass and ukulele and turned my amplifier on and anxiously waited for the viewers to fill in. The people were lined up for several dozen feet outside the auditorium, and within ten minutes most of the seats were taken. Then, at 7:00 on the dot, Mr. William-Andrews Weiss introduced the show and its context. Then the piano player and I played the first three notes, and off we went.  – By Heather Smith

 We were sent to our starting places and I was ready to go on stage.  The band played my cue and I walked onstage with the rest of my family. I breathed in “the intoxicating smell of the graveyard” and I felt at home on stage.  I thought the show was a huge success both nights and was very blessed to be a part of the “extremely normal” Addams family. – By Mickie Klatt

 I cherished every moment of the show in my role as Mal Benieke, the father of Wednesday’s lover Lucas. I went on a journey from rigid control freak to a passionate Grateful Dead fan. I also enjoyed Friday’s final scene, when I watched my son marry Wednesday as Alice, my wife, and I looked on fondly. – By Ben Hathhorn

The entire show went without a hitch, despite early troubles such as the assistant director, Mr. Jack Bohenestiehl, being diagnosed with cancer halfway through rehearsals and for a few microphone problems, a situation that we remedied in a couple scenes each. Everyone involved had an amazing time practicing and performing for friends and family, and everyone is looking forward to taking the stage again in the spring play.

 

Un Lugar Para Pasar Un Tiempo Agradable | A Place to Spend a Pleasant Time

Legends es un centro comercial muy grande con tiendas de ropa, restaurantes, y zapaterías. Hay muchas bancas para sentarse frente al fuente que está justo en el centro de Legends. También hay mesas para comer algo delicioso y un buen lugar para dar una caminata y disfrutar todo lo de alrededor.

Legends es una inversión de $500 millones, rodeada por el Kansas City  Speedway, Hollywood Casino, Children’s Mercy Park, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Great Wolf Lodge, y AMC Theaters justo en el centro de Legends, y otros mas. El tema de Legends está entretejido a través de la facilidad, ofreciendo la información sobre la historia, el patrimonio, y el ambiente de Kansas. Cada patio del centro está dedicado a una categoría particular de Kansas o aspecto famoso del estado y su historia.

El sábado 8 de noviembre, mi familia y yo fuimos a la tienda Nike,  Aeropostale, y Off Broadway Shoes. Yo no compre nada pero si me gusto unas cosas que vi en la tienda. Los sábados hay mucha gente entonces hay ambiente bueno. A mi me encanta Legends porque es muy grande y te hace sentir que estás en un lugar total diferente. Yo e ido a Legends muchas veces, pero cada vez ha sido una experiencia diferente.

Legends is a very large shopping center with clothing stores, restaurants, and shoe shops. There are plenty of benches to sit in front of the fountain which is located in the center of Legends. There are also tables for enjoying a great meal.

Legends is a $ 500 million investment, surrounded by Kansas City Speedway, Hollywood Casino, Children’s Mercy Park, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Great Wolf Lodge, and AMC Theaters located in the center of Legends. The Legends theme is woven through the facility, offering information on the history, heritage, and environment of Kansas. Each downtown courtyard is dedicated to a particular category of Kansas, or famous aspect of the state and its history.

On Saturday, November 8, my family and I went to spend some time in Legends. We visited Nike, Aeropostale, and Off Broadway Shoes. I did not buy anything, but I did like some things I saw in the store. On Saturday’s there are a lot of people, which forms an enjoyable environment. I enjoy Legends because it is a different experience each time.

Oak Hills Golf Center, un hermoso lugar con colinas y valles en las cercanías de Jefferson City, albergó la competencia del estado de Missouri de campo traviesa, el pasado 5 de noviembre de 2016. Participaron cuatro clases, cada una con una categoría para chicos y otra para chicas. En total hubo ocho carreras.

LHS compitió solamente en la Clase 1, con 14 estudiantes (siete chicos, e igual cantidad de chicas). Pero el total de corredores era de más de 300 (163 varones y 147 hembras). Los chicos corrieron a las 11:50 A.M, mientras que las chicas a la 1:10 P.M.

Yo manejé por cuatro horas en la mañana el 5 de noviembre para ver la competencia. Llegué a las 10 A.M., cuando ya todos se preparaban para el gran día. Vi a mis amigos Jesse, Aaron, Christian, Nathan, Caleb, Mason y Christian H., y los animé con todas mis fuerzas. Jesse terminó en cuarto lugar y Aaron en octavo. El equipo masculino alcanzó el segundo lugar.

Luego le correspondió competir a las muchachas. Igualmente exhorté a Joelle, Madison, Anne, Maya, Hannah, Fabi y Ally, con todas mis energías. Joelle terminó en decimoctavo lugar. Las chicas se colocaron en el cuarto puesto. Después de la carrera, abrecé a Joelle y Madison.

Estoy orgullosa de mis amigos y de mi escuela. Ojalá pueda verlos ganar el próximo año.

           Oak Hills Golf Center, a beautiful place with hills and valleys in the center of Jefferson City, hosted the State Cross Country Competition on November 5, 2016. Four clases participated, each had a category for boys and for girls. In total there was 8 races.

            LHS only competed in Class 1 with 14 students (seven boys y the same number of girls). But the total number of runners was more than 300 (163 boys and 147 girls. The boys ran at 11:50 A.M, while the girls at 1:10 P.M.

            I drove for four hours on the morning of November 5 to watch the competition. I arrived at 10 A.M., when all of them were already preparing for the big day. I saw my Friends Jesse, Aaron, Christian, Nathan, Caleb, Mason, and Christian H., and cheered with all my strength. Jesse finished in 4th place and Aaron in 8th. The boys’ team won 2nd place.

            Later the girls competed. I also cheered for Joelle, Madison, Anne, Maya, Hannah, Fabi and Ally with all my energies. Joelle finished in 18th place. The girls were placed in 4th. After the race I hugged Joelle and Madison.

            I am very proud of my friends and my school. I hope I can watch them win next year.  

El Modernismo y la Cultura de La Plaza | The Modernism and Culture of the Plaza

La iluminación decorativa, las esculturas y fuentes, las tiendas, los restaurantes y otros espacios de interés, hacen de La Plaza de Kansas City un lugar que no debemos perdernos.

The decorative lights, sculptures, fountains, stores, restaurants, and other points of interest make the Kansas City Plaza a place not to be missed.

El “Country Club La Plaza” es un famoso punto de referencia de la cultura y la modernidad en Kansas City, Missouri. Su arquitectura y urbanismo son muy atractivos. Las construcciones son elaboradas y ornamentadas. Las torres de relojes son grandes, similares a las catedrales medievales. Las amplias avenidas están bordeadas de árboles y de edificios accesibles para todas las personas, como la Biblioteca Pública, que alberga varios miles de volúmenes impresos dispuestos en inmensas estanterías, y brinda muchos servicios.

En mi reciente visita a La Plaza, realmente quedé impresionado con la Biblioteca, quizá una de las más grandes de la ciudad.  Igualmente me impactó la Fuente de la Luz de Sevilla, con más de 30 pies de altura y adornada con intricados detalles. Hecha de mármol, su pináculo es una corona del mismo material. Todo a su alrededor está dispuesto en armonía, ofreciendo un ambiente placentero.  

Durante la tarde, me deleité observando las diversas esculturas y otras bellas fuentes -como la de J. C. Nichols-, entre las múltiples obras del arte arquitectónico y decorativo que pululan en esta área. Sin embargo, mi mayor deleite fue en la noche. Definitivamente, las decoraciones nocturnas son las mejores. ¡Qué colorida la iluminación! La abundancia de las luces me agradó tanto que he escogido este aspecto como mi favorito de La Plaza. Kansas City Power & Light hace un espectacular trabajo allí.

Los restaurantes, tiendas y eventos especiales también dan a La Plaza un toque refinado y moderno. Comí en un restaurante de comida mexicana y me gustó mucho. Las posibilidades de disfrutar platos de la cocina internacional son variadas. El día de mi visita se celebraba un popular evento donde el equipo de fútbol americano de la ciudad, los Chiefs, acogía a los Jaguars, de Florida, previo al partido del siguiente día.

Mi recomendación para quienes visitan Kansas City, ¡es que vayan por La Plaza!

The Country Club Plaza is a famous landmark and monument to the culture and modernism of Kansas City, Missouri. The Plaza’s architecture and sophisticated design are of much interest. All the constructions are both elaborate and ornate. The clock towers are large and similar to medieval cathedrals. The public streets and walkways are lined with trees and all the buildings are easily accessible to all; such as the Public Library, which has many impressive books on various topics in its immense shelves, providing the public with many services.

During my recent trip to the Plaza, I was impressed by the Library’s great size – one of the largest of its kind in the city. Elsewhere, and equally impressive, was the Fountain of the Light of Seville. More than 30 feet high and adorned with intricate details, the fountain is made of marble and is topped with carefully carved decorations. All the plaza was a beautiful harmony, combining to form a very pleasurable environment.

In the evening, I looked around at other pretty fountains and diverse statues such as the Nichols Fountain among the multiple objects of the architectural art and decorations which were all around me. However, the night proved to be an even better delight. The nighttime decorations were definitely better; the lights were so colorful! I enjoyed the huge volume of lights immensely – they are my favorite aspect of the Plaza. I enjoyed one of several spectacular light shows put on in the plaza by Kansas City Power and Light. 

Finally, the restaurants, stores, and special events in the Plaza also added to the refined and modern atmosphere. I ate in a Mexican restaurant and greatly enjoyed it – the possibilities of international cuisine were greatly varied. On the day of my visit, there was a celebration for the city’s football team, the Chiefs, as they would host the Jaguars, a Florida team, in a game the next day. 

I highly recommend to everyone who comes to Kansas City to visit the Plaza!

Sábado de campo traviesa en Jefferson City | A Cross-Country Day in Jefferson City

La competencia estatal de campo traviesa de Missouri, es celebrada cada año, alrededor del 5 de noviembre, en Jefferson City, la capital del estado. Los varones y las hembras compiten por separado en cuatro clases diferentes. En la edición de 2016 participaron 16 equipos masculinos y 13 femeninos. Había sobre 300 atletas en esta competencia

Aunque yo no soy parte del equipo de LHS, fui a animar a los nuestros. Después de las clases del viernes, mi madre y yo manejamos unas dos horas, pues Jefferson City está a mitad de camino entre Kansas City y Saint Louis.   

El hospedaje fue en un hotel de Columbia, allí comimos pizza en compañía de los equipos. Después de la cena, ellos se reunieron con su entrenador, el señor Yazel, quien los hizo llorar con su discurso de motivación.

Finalmente llegó el esperado día de la competencia, un hermoso sábado soleado y con temperaturas agradables. Me pareció que todos estaban tensos, incluso mi madre y yo. Nuestros equipos se acomodaron en una tienda de campaña y esperaron a que les llegara el momento de salir al terreno.

Los chicos corrían antes que las chicas, por eso fueron los primeros en ponerse a calentar. Yo miré la carrera junto con Ally Ebert, el manager de los equipos. Contamos los lugares de los corredores cuando nos pasaron por delante, antes de la segunda milla, y después fuimos rápidamente a la línea de meta. Luego hicimos lo mismo con las chicas.

La ceremonia de premiación fue muy emotiva. Tres de nuestros chicos quedaron entre los 25 mejores y recibieron premios individuales. Ellos son: Jesse Schultz, Aaron Boatman y Christian Hinrichs. El equipo masculino en general obtuvo el segundo premio.

Nuestra corredora Joelle Hick, también estuvo entre las 25 mejores y recibió su premio individual. El equipo femenino quedó en cuarto lugar.

Durante el viaje de regreso a la casa, dormí todo el tiempo, me sentía tan agotada como los corredores. Hubiéramos querido volver con la victoria absoluta de nuestros dos equipos, pero de todas maneras estábamos contentos por sus buenos resultados.   

The Cross-Country State Competition in Missouri is celebrated every year around the fifth of November in Jefferson City, the state capital. The boys and girls compete separately in four different classes. In 2016, 16 boys’ teams and 13 girls’ teams participated. In just class 1, over 300 athletes were present for the competition. 

Although I am not part of the LHS Cross-Country team, I went with them to cheer them on. After school ended on Friday, my mother and I drove more than two hours to Jefferson City, which is about halfway between Kansas City and St. Louis. 

We spent the night in a hotel in Columbia, where we ate pizza and spent time with the teams. After dinner, they had a meeting with Coach Yazel, who gave a speech along with Ally Ebert, which was so emotional that many cried.

The day of the competition finally arrived, a beautiful sunny Saturday with nice temperatures. Everyone seemed nervous, even my mother and I and the other family of the athletes. Both teams huddled underneath our tent and waited for the moment of the race to arrive. 

The boys ran before the girls, so they got up first to warm up. I watched the first race with Ally Ebert, the manager of both teams. We stood just before the second mile marker and yelled out the places of the runners when they passed in front of us, and when all the runners had passed, we ran quickly to the finish line to cheer them on through the end. We then did the same for the girls. 

The awards ceremony was very emotional and exciting. Three of our boys, Jesse Schultz, Aaron Boatman, and Christian Hinrichs, finished in the top 25 and received individual awards. The boys’ team overall finished in second place.

One of our female runners, Joelle Hick, finished in the top 25 and received an individual award as well. Her and her teammates allowed the girls’ team to finish in fourth place overall. 

I slept the entire way back to my house, because I was completely worn out. We would have liked to have returned with the state championship for both teams,  but we were still proud of our runners and happy with the results. 

Un Hermoso Lugar Para Pasear, Trabajar y Vivir | A Beautiful Place to Walk, Work and Live In

Country Club Plaza, en Kansas City, MO, es un hermoso lugar para pasear, trabajar, y vivir. Con sus múltiples estatuas y fuentes, y su estilo arquitectónico español, ofrece la posibilidad de disfrutar de un ambiente agradable y relajante.

El pasado sábado, con mi mama, fuimos de paseo a este lugar, el cual, según la historia, fue el primer boulevar de su tipo construido en E.U. La fecha de su inauguración, fue en 1922, y desde entonces resulta uno de los sitios más atractivos de la ciudad.

Mi mama y yo decidimos tomarnos un café en la tienda de Starbucks, situada en la esquina de Nicholas Rd y Central St. Mientras esperábamos nuestras bebidas (un Grande White Chocolate Mocha, para mi, y un Grande Hazelnut Cappuccino con leche de soya, para ella), pudimos darnos cuenta que el lugar es frecuentado por personas de diferentes países y religiones, como hindúes y musulmanes.

Nuestro paseo nos motivó para volver otro día, entonces pretendemos visitar los restaurantes, tiendas de ropa y galerías de arte, que abundan allí.

Country Club Plaza, in Kansas City, MO, is a beautiful place to walk, work, and live in. With its many statues and fountains, and its Spanish architectural style, it offers the possibility of enjoying a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere.
Last Saturday, with my mom, we went to this place, which, according to history, was the first boulevard of its kind built in the U.S. The date of its inauguration, was in 1922, and since then it is one of the most attractive places of the city.

My mom and I decided to have a cup of coffee at the Starbucks store, located on the corner of Nicholas Rd and Central St. While we waited for our drinks (a Grande White Chocolate Mocha, for me, and a Grande Hazelnut Cappuccino with soy milk, for her), we could notice that the place is frequented by people from different countries and religions, such as Hindus and Muslims.

Our trip motivated us to return another day, so we intend to visit the restaurants, clothing stores and art galleries, which are located there.

¡Por primera vez se presentará en LHS una comedia musical!

For the first time, LHS presents a musical comedy!

El estreno será los días 18 y 19 de noviembre a las 7:00 pm en el auditorio LHS.

The Addams Family, la primera comedia musical montada en LHS, será estrenada los días 18 y 19 de noviembre a las siete de la noche en el auditorio de la escuela.

La comedia musical fue escrita por Andrew Lippa, y dirigida por los señores Weiss y Bohnenstiehl. Los protagonistas son Mason Dickhut como Gómez Addams; Sara Gottschamer, como Morticia Addams; Mickie Klatt, como Wednesday Addams, y Jesse Schultz, como Lucas Beineke.

Tambien actúan Josh Spencer, Katie Hornbostel, Ben Arnold, Max Huebner, Maya Laytham, Ben Hathhorn, Lauren Ada, Allie Carlson, Carol Lynn Chartier, Emelia Durham, Ally Ebert, Brooke Gordon, Stephanie Hatesohl, Christian Hinrichs, Lachlan Mathewson, Hannah Mundt, Kyrah Schroeter, Jeremiah Schultz, Emily Tanner y Ethan Tanner.

El acompañamiento musical estará a cargo de Leslie Pollack (piano),  Jerry Pollack (batería) y Heather Smith (bajo eléctrico).

El argumento es que Wednesday Addams se enamora perdidamente de Lucas Beineke, un chico normal. La familia de Lucas debe aprender a aceptar la familia de Wednesday, y viceversa. Pero sus diferencias podrían causar que Wednesday y Lucas se separen.

The show will be at 7:00pm on the 18^th and 19^th of November in the LHS auditorium.  

The Addams Family, the first musical comedy put on by LHS, will be presented on November 18^th and 19^th at 7:00pm inside the auditorium of the school.

This musical comedy was written by Andrew Lippa and is directed by Mr. Weiss and Mr. Bohnenstiehl. The protagonists are Mason Dickhut, playing Gomez Addams; Sara Gottschamer, playing Morticia Adams; Mickie Klatt, playing Wednesday Addams, and Jesse Schultz, playing Lucas Benieke.

The other actors in the musical comedy are Josh Spencer, Katie Hornbostel, Ben Arnold, Max Huebner, Maya Laytham, Ben Hathhorn, Lauren Ada, Allie Carlson, Carol Lynn Chartier, Emelia Durham, Ally Ebert, Brooke Gordon, Stephanie Hatesohl, Christian Hinrichs, Lachlan Mathewson, Hannah Mundt, Kyrah Schroeter, Jeremiah Schultz, Emily Tanner, and Ethan Tanner.   

The accompaniment for the musical comedy is comprised of Leslie Pollack (piano), Jerry Pollack (drums), and Heather Smith (electric bass).

The plot begins with Wednesday Addams falling in love with Lucas Benieke, a normal boy. Lucas’s family must learn to accept Wednesday’s family and vice versa. But, their differences might cause Wednesday and Lucas to separate.

Competencia Distrital de Campo Traviesa/Cross Country District Competition

Los equipos de campo traviesa de LHS se coronaron con la victoria.

Los equipos femenino y masculino de campo traviesa de LHS, fueron ganadores de la competencia distrital, celebrada el pasado sábado, 29 de octubre, en Warrensburg, Missouri.

De manera individual Jesse Schultz y Joelle Hick, se coronaron con el primer premio en las categorías masculina y femenina, respectivamente. Los dos equipos, en total, también ganaron en esa clase y fueron los campeones de la competencia.

Los atletas que terminaron entre los diez primeros, representarán a LHS en la competencia del estado de Missouri, el próximo sábado, 5 de noviembre, en Jefferson City.

Las competencias distritales se realizan cada año por esta fecha. LHS pertenece al Distrito 7, que incluye 12 high schools de Kansas City.

 

 

The LHS male and female cross country teams, were winners of the district competition, that took place last Saturday, October 29, in Warrensburg, Missouri.

As individuals, Jesse Schultz and Joelle Hick were crowned with first place in the male and female categories respectively. In total, both teams won in the class and were champions of the district competition.

The athletes that finished in top first ten, will be representing LHS at the Missouri state competition next saturday, November 5th in Jefferson City.

The district competition is held each year around this date and LHS belongs to District 7 which includes 12 high schools in Kansas City.

85 estudiantes de escuelas luteranas de Kansas City vinieron a LHS para conocer cómo es high school.

85 students from Kansas City Lutheran schools come to LHS to learn what life is like in high school.

El jueves 27 de octubre, estudiantes de varias escuelas luteranas de Kansas City, vinieron a visitar a Lutheran High School para participar en Visit Day.

Séptimo y octavo grados de las escuelas Messiah, Hope, Calvary, MLA, y Bethany, visitaron varias aulas para conocer las clases de arte, lenguaje, ciencias, drama, matemáticas, y religión.

El propósito de este día es para que los estudiantes de nivel medio conozcan el sistema de Lutheran High y para exhortarlos a que estudien aquí.

La actividad de Visit Day concluyó con una capilla, donde el Pastor Morris, predicó el mensaje.

 

Students from various Lutheran middle schools around the Kansas City area came to LHS on Thursday, October 27, to participate in Visit Day.   

Seventh and eighth graders from Messiah, Hope, Cavalry, MLA and Bethany visited several classrooms to learn about LHS art, language, science, drama, mathematics and religion classes.

The purpose of this day was for the middle school students to learn the system of Lutheran High and decide if they wished to come to school here.

The activities of Visit Day concluded with a chapel where Pastor Morris delivered the sermon.
